Pt cruiser where is the fuse box
A Power Distribution Center is located in the engine compartment; next to the air cleaner filter. A label identifying the components and circuits is located on the underside of the cover.
An Integrated Power Module is located in the engine compartment near the air cleaner assembly. The fuse access panel is on the left side of the instrument panel next to the steering column. Assignment of fuses in the Power Distribution Center Assignment of fuses in the Integrated Power Module , , , , My problem is replacing the blinker module.
I have the part, and I was able to download instructions from one of the publishers of repair manuals like Haynes or Chilton's I think. It says to remove the upper and lower shroud from the steering column. I don't see an upper or lower shroud. Any ideas? Gypsy answered 7 years ago. Mattie answered 5 years ago. Where is the fuse box on a Pt Cruiser? The rear windshield wiper won't work and I don't know if it's the motor or bad fuse? Can someone help me? The IPM itself Thank you very much for your help Crewzin at least I can stop looking for an interior fuse box that does not exist. I don't suppose you would know which fuse is actually responsible for the operation of the external indicator lights after reading your post I referred to my owners manual and couldn't see a more specific break down of what each fuse is responsible for.
If there isn't one bespoke fuse then perhaps it is a relay or perhaps the flasher module neither of which I can readily locate at the moment.
This is my first car so I'm clutching at straws in the dark what do you think. Any further help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance Owain, Cardiff, Wales. I wish I could help further but The new Can-Bus system is beyond my capabilities. Different parts of the electrical system are controlled by things I don't understand. It was different with a fuse for each individual thing in the cruisers. The more "little black boxes", the more it's like voo doo to me.
So I can't help a whole lot, either. I believe that besides the main power control module, which controls the engine functions, and the fuse box, there is a body control module BCM for most of the lights and accessories. On the '01 through '05, it is under the dash top trim.
I have a photo here from when I was cutting my dash for a gauge pod Your '06 BCM most likely is in the same place.
I have seen posts here by owners who have had problems with their power windows, convertible tops and other issues, and I recall some kind of fix or "re-set" for the BCM. My recall is vague so maybe someone can give better details. It was something about having the doors open and disconnecting the battery????
I'll do some searching in the old archived threads and see if I can find something. There have been one or two reports about having to replace the BCM but usually the "fix" worked okay.
A low or failing battery can cause some strange things to happen. If there is not enough power available to operate all the systems, the power module will select random things to shut off. Even a battery that's not very old can be bad.
